5 Things to Know About the best concrete cutter in ohio
1. We use specialized equipment for making tapered cuts and removal of curbs.
Horizontal curb cuts allow for installations of new driveways, approaches, and handicap ramps. Our custom-built saws allow us to effectively open the curb so you can gain access. The saw cuts curbs horizontally to the street from the street side without requiring a large amount of excavation on the back side. A new residential approach can be cut in less than one hour and includes tapered cuts on the ends.
2. Concrete flat sawing is the most identified diamond cutting method.
In some areas of the country, it is also called Slab sawing since horizontal installations of concrete are often referred to as "slabs" of concrete. Flat sawing features a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk behind machine requiring one operator. These horizontal surfaces can be slab on grade floors (concrete installed on a stone base), bridge decks, driveways, structural or elevated slabs, and pavement.
Flat sawing can be performed with an electric or diesel unit. The type of motor becomes an issue with the location of the work. If you work is located outside in a large building with adequate ventilation, our fleet of diesel saws may be the right solution to their better productivity. Our newer saws that are tier 4 compliant motors produce very little emissions. Our non-tier 4 saws are equipped with scrubbers to allow interior work in large spaces.
3. We also can saw a variety of materials and metals including zinc, magnesium, and beryllium.
Typical Applications Include:
Cutting reinforced concrete floors
Cutting expansion and control joints
Trenching for electrical installation
Trenching for plumbing installation
Removing damaged pavement
Clean and repair cracks
Openings for staircases, elevators, and duct work
Roof Openings
Highway, road, and driveway cutting
Flat sawing is the most commonly used diamond cutting method. It is typically used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as floors, bridge decks, and pavement. Also called slab saws, flat saws feature a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk-behind machine requiring only one operator. They can cut up to 24" in depth. Flat saws are typically used to provide expansion joints, remove damaged pavement sections, clean and prepare random cracks for repair, and remove concrete sections for demolition purposes.
4. Common asphalt cutting services include small projects such as installing light posts in a parking lot or larger projects such as longitudinal cutting for a hundred miles of highway.
Ohio Concrete has the manpower and equipment to accomplish projects of any size.
Other common forms of asphalt cutting include sawing the perimeter of areas that need asphalt repair. This provides a clean edge to improve the appearance and effectiveness of the surface repair. Sometimes this includes sawing through multiple layers, including brick and/or concrete of older installations.
Other services include circular openings for parking lot lighting or drainage projects in asphalt of up to 60" in diameter. Removal of the asphalt and cutting debris can be taken care of by the experienced team at Ohio Concrete.
As an asphalt cutting contractor, we have several different saw sizes to make your project easy to execute. Our fleet of saws is process of converting to Tier 4 diesel compliant. Call today and get our competitive asphalt cutting prices.
5. Wall saws are typically used on vertical surfaces when a new doorway, window or HVAC openings are needed.
Wall sawing employs a diamond blade on a track-mounted system that can be used for vertical or horizontal cuts. Wall sawing allows for precise cuts in both concrete and masonry structures. These saws run on hydraulic or electric power and are also commonly referred to as concrete track saws. We have several hydraulic saws that have the power to saw effectively. Recent developments in high cycle technology have created alternatives to hydraulic equipment. The high cycle equipment allows this wall sawing contractor to get to locations further from the truck than hydraulics allow. They are also lighter in weight to allow them to be transported easier.
Wall sawing can be performed up to 30" deep. Cutting can also be performed from both sides of the wall, giving a total depth of up to 60". If your opening requires a specific angle through the concrete, this saw can accommodate. If you have thicker walls and floors, a wire saw can be utilized to achieve the cutting necessary.
Typical Applications Include:
- Straight, smooth finished openings in walls, ceilings, and floors
- Accurately sized, fixture ready openings
- Bevel cutting for a chambered edge
- Flush cutting against other wall surfaces
- Foundations, Dams, levies, precast walls
